Check Out Our Spring Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Jacob Hayes We’re moving through springtime here in Kingsport, but don’t think we forgot about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. This season’s winner is Tonya S., who submitted some photos of her new shutters that feature a lot of great design choices. Tonya’s home features some beautiful new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Because those shutters are closed, you can really get a glimpse of how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Imagine that dining room with a slightly softer light; it would be the perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With the right shutters in your dining room like Tonya has, you can express that exact mood regardless of what it’s like outside. Take a look at how the white shutters complement the white trim on the baseboard and the white ceiling. Those matching neutrals make the black wood furniture and the hardwood floor’s natural color shine even more. She didn’t stop at just one photo of her shutters, though. Below is another photo she submitted of her new sliding barn door shutter! We love this barn door shutter for a number of reasons. First off, it looks fantastic. The homegrown look of the wood panel with that sleek black frame up top give an enduring yet relaxed look. What we like even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. Her barn door shutter sits off the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still letting the window operate. Because the shutter sits on the front the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. As an example, if she wanted to set a plant on the sill to get sunlight, she could even close the shutter to let it soak up some rays while still controlling the light in her home. According to Tonya this is the third time they’ve chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for repeatedly choosing us for all her window design needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area. If you want to get your shutters featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Tennessean next go around! Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you feel like your home is missing something, we want to help.
